Our Weekend

This weekend was time in the garden...raking, turning the soil over and getting my hands dirty, there was laundry hanging on the line and a carefree little man chasing chickens around the yard. The sun was shining and it actually felt like spring. By Saturday night my hands had blisters and my back was aching, but it was so worth it.

Sunday morning greeted us with a beautiful, unexpected sunrise, it was suppose to be raining. We enjoyed pancakes topped with our maple syrup and then, while my two men played, I headed out to meet some friends for a little mama time and a cup of tea. We finished off the weekend with a chickpea curry for dinner and then a quiet night, with an early bedtime.

How was your weekend?

  1. Ours was busy as well... less time outside (still too much snow to do anything), but the sun was out Saturday and there was a lot of snow melt which meant jumping in puddles! We found nature indoors yesterday when the rain came in (Mall Easter petting farm) and had a quiet day at home.

So glad you got to enjoy the outdoors. Looking forward to Easter week-end for a long family week-end an some much needed hard labor! :-)

  2. My weekend was full of sun and spring breeze. We spent saturday morning working on the garden, then a beautiful evening at home with some friends. Sunday I woke up early for a lonely run and then we spent the afternoon walking around the country near our home, notice every sign of spring coming. Such a relaxing weekend!

  3. I like you weekend Kim. As I read your words I found myself smiling, even to the blisters because that meant you were outside. We have rain coming in tonight, but I'm hoping it holds off so we can see the eclipse.

    1. Thank you Tracey :) I was happy for the blisters and aching back too...a sign of a good day in the yard. We have rain, and I hate to say it, snow, in the forecast for tonight too. I think we will miss the eclipse.

  9. Great to see you able to get out in the garden, and hanging out washing at last too! We had a lovely weekend, trips to the beach each day. And yesterday the waves were so tempting I couldn't resist joining the crazy children for my first swim of the year, it was freezing (especially as I don't have a wet suit!) but amazing to be back in the water properly, definitely invigorating!

  10. Isn't it so much fun to hang clothes out on the line? Love the fact it is getting warmer. We had a great weekend making pizza with close friends. Nothing better than family, friends and food.

  13. What a great weekend! Isn't it wonderful to get outside without many layers of clothes and feel the earth start to come alive with Spring? My favorite time of year.
