Yarn Along

Not much has changed this week, there are a few more rows on my current Christmas present, but really, I was hoping to have it finished. I am sticking with the same excuse as last week...the sunshine, the heat, the garden, all of them calling my name. I did manage to sit outside for a little bit and knit over the weekend, but you know as soon as you sit down the voice of an excited little one calls out. I was called from the back deck by squeals of delight over yet another frog he found. How can I knit when there are frogs to build habitats for?
So I continue knitting a little more slowly, but hey, that’s why I start Christmas presents in the spring, so I can take my time, not feel rushed and enjoy the process. So I will cut myself a little bit of slack and hope that this week finds me a little more time so that I can finish this hat.
Reading continues as per usual – doula training and Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature. I do want to pick up something a little less heavy, something that I can just sit back with and read for the joy of reading and not to study.  There are quite a few books on my wish list so I think I need to narrow it down to one or two and place an order this week.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. I totally agree - you can't be knitting when there are habitats to build :) Better to enjoy it all.
I hope you find a little more time this week. Or maybe less frogs ;-)

  2. Not having to rush is one of the reasons I start my Christmas knitting early and of course if there are frog homes to check out then the knitting must be sat aside! :)

  5. my knitting and crocheting usually comes to a standstill as soon as the warm weather hits! you are going to love the needle felting, i find it so much more portable than knitting (mostly because you don't have to worry about where you left off, just shove it into your basket and hop on over to that frog!)

    1. I can't wait Heather. And I can see that, no pattern to worry about, just drop in the basket and off I go to see the frogs. Maybe my first project should be a frog :)

  6. Hi Kim. Thanks to your inspiration I have just finished knitting a shawl that has taken me about 12 months to knit. About 45mins ago I looked at your knitting post. I then found my knitting and instructions, decided how much longer I wanted the shawl and then a-knitting I went. Now 45mins later it's finished. Hallelujah!!!!!! So thanks Kim, your inspiration has resulted in a finished shawl for me and tomorrow is the first day of winter for us. I will do a post soon with a photo. I'm off to bed and you would be awake and ready to start your day. Have a lovely Thursday Kim. xxoo
