A walk in the woods is always full of surprises; you just never know what you will find on any given day. It is one of the reasons I love spending time in nature, it is constantly changing and yet I find such comfort and healing there.
Last week we headed out for our daily family walk and headed into our neighbours forest. Our neighbours own 80 acres across the road from us, 75 of those acres is forest. They have lovingly cut trails throughout and invited us to use it any time we like. We take advantage of this quite often as you can imagine.
So what surprises awaited us last week, take a look:
Trilliums...lots of them! |
So stunnning! |
Gorgeous! |
A lonely purple one among the white |
Just a tad bit excited when he saw them :) |
Taking it all in |
"They go on forever mama." |
"I'm standing in the middle mama!" |
"Can I touch one mama?" |
It was a beautiful walk in the woods. I am so happy to be able to share Mother Nature with Reece, she truly is amazing.

I bet they are gone now too! I love how nature can be so fleeting. It presents you with little gifts and it's as if it were just for you.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure, we will be going to check tomorrow, but I imagine they are not quite as stunning as they were last week.
DeleteI would like to think that lovely field of trilliums was just for us last week :)
Indeed. The greatest Mother of all. Those purple/red trilliums are really special, aren't they. Such a pop of color in all that white. Beautiful.
