Things are moving along nicely with my Christmas knitting, one hat finished last week, and the second one is currently being decreased for the crown. I should finish it up by the end of the week, if not sooner, and cast one on for my nephew.
I had the wonderful opportunity to visit this little yarn shop in Oakville on the weekend. My oh my there was some lovely yarn. I picked up some merino wool that was on sale – 50% off, a lovely wool blend and new pair of knitting needles, they were just too pretty and I couldn’t resist. I really could have spent hours just looking around, but when you have a toddler with you it has to be a quick visit.

Reading is focused on my doula training and my nature connection. Birth Matters by Ina May Gaskin, my doula workbook and the Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature are piled up at the ready for those precious moments of time when I can sneak in some reading.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

That is very pretty yarn Kim and on sale makes it all the better.
ReplyDeleteMy LYS is having a sale on Friday and I keep telling myself I really don't need anymore yarn right now, but my 'want' may win out!
Have a happy day!
Thanks Tracey, and I think you should go, we can always use more yarn :)
DeleteGlad to know I am not the only one buying yarn :) Lovely knitting and the blue gray skein is calling my name....
ReplyDeleteNope, I am guitly too :) That is exactly why I picked it up, from across the store it was calling me. Now to decide what to knit with it.
DeleteI've become a delinquent knitter this year. Your posts will inspire me into action soo, I hope. Surely before we welcome this fall baby.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many lovely things to knit for a baby, pick up those needles Lisa :)
DeleteI'm reading Game of Thrones. A fun bit of fiction. And am bringing along on my trip Coming Home to Eat.
ReplyDeleteComing Home to Eat, will have to look that one up. Can't wait to hear what you think of it.
Deletelove that blue-green colorway!
ReplyDeleteMe too :)
DeleteI love that you're doing Christmas knitting already! You're going to be sitting pretty come December. :)
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope so :)
DeleteThe blue and green yarn is lovely! And who can pass up great yarn sales? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks and not me, obviously :)
DeleteYou are so smart doing Christmas knits now-I always kick myself for waiting to the last minute. Good luck on your doula training Kim.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is going well so far and I am really enjoying it.
DeleteI hate last minute stuff, so I always prepare well ahead of time. I like to sit back and enjoy the festive season and I can do that if all the gifts are made.
SO much Christmas knitting progress. I need to get my act together. What luck finding a 50% off wool sale. I'm not surprised you bought some.
ReplyDeleteI somehow knew I would find support for my yarn purchase today :) Good luck finding a sale.
DeleteYour new yarn looks yummy. How are the studies going?
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa. Studies are going very well. First set of assignments handed in and returned with great results. It all feels just right.
DeleteKeep rockin' those Christmas gifts! And lucky you for expanding your stash on the cheap. :)
ReplyDeleteI will!
Deleteyou are so inspiring with all of your christmas knitting! and that new yarn, just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks! Really though I get started early so I can sit back, relax and enjoy the fun of December.
Deletelooks lovely! I don't knit, but my mother does and she makes the most lovely things!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteVisiting yarn shops - oh how "dangerous!" It's hard to walk away without buying yarn. The best way to get out of a yarn shop without lingering is to have a non-knitter/crocheter with you. They won't want to linger - and you get the looks of horror when they realize how much you want to spend on yarn...
ReplyDeleteHaha, that is so true. And is also why I never take my husband with me to the yarn shop :)
