{This Moment}

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see. Inspired by Soulemama.

  4. Oooh, cooking dandelions! We've never done it! How did they turn out?!

    Our moment this week comes from the Cardboard City that Grace's Girl Scout troop created on Tuesday! Each girl had to make a building that would be found in a city or town. Grace was given a flower shop to create. The picture says the rest!

  15. Will these be dandelion fritters? I've never tried these -right now, we don't have too many dandelions and the wild rabbits make short work of what pops up. Have a great relaxing weekend, Kim!

  16. Hello everyone!! Yes, dandelion fritters or fried dandelions. We attended a community potluck last weekend. Upon arrival all the kids were given a bowl and told to pick some dandelions. When they returned eggs and flour were waiting for them. One of them cracked the eggs and the rest of them got busy dipping the flowers in the eggs then into the flour. One of the dads fried them up and we all enjoyed them with a touch of maple syrup.

    It was my first time eating the flower whole. I usually eat or juice the leaves, and have used the petals in salad before. It was a bit of a different texture, crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, with just a little bit of bitterness. All in all pretty tasty. Yes, Reece tried them, had two or three of them before he lost interest and went back to climbing trees...boys :)

    Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

    1. I will have to try that here, thanks Kim. I made dandelion syrup and it turned out alright, but does have that touch of bitterness that kind of took me off guard. Really was a lot of work for the amount I ended up with,but still interesting to try.
      Have a great weekend.
