One of the most precious gifts I have discovered on this mothering journey I am on is the joy of seeing life through Reece's eyes as he discovers the world around him. It is pretty darn amazing.
Lately, Reece has been very interested in my camera. He wants to take pictures of everything, and I mean everything. Yesterday morning as we were preparing for our morning walk he asked if he could bring the camera along. Sure!
What follows are just a few of the 165 images I downloaded to the computer last night, yes 165 images.
There you have it, a little peek from behind the lens with Reece. I was with him the entire time, quietly watching as he carefully decided what would make a good shot. He was focused, intense and full of joy as he snapped away. Life through his eyes is pretty darn good.
Wishing you a lovely Tuesday.
I love giving my kids the camera. I love even more when they sneak off with it, then when I upload my photos I'm greeted with a big surprise of their photos. A little glimpse into how they see with their eyes. :)
ReplyDeleteReece is still in the asking stage before he grabs my camera, but I can soon see him sneaking away with it too :)
DeleteNice! Z hasn't asked for my camera yet but she's started saying "mama come in here and take a picture of my babies."
ReplyDeleteHaha, Reece use to do that.
DeleteIt's so fun to see what he sees! I'm going to have to give in a bit and let my kids behind the lens.
ReplyDeleteIt is a ton of fun. He brought it with us again this morning. Looking forward to seeing what your kiddos see.
DeleteHe's got a great "eye." The different perspective is always cool. It's also interesting as they get older. My niece left me pictures of various faces we make at each other on my phone. It made my day when I stumbled across them.
ReplyDeleteIt seems he does. It was very interesting to look at them, and I have more to look at today :)
DeleteI love letting my girls take the camera. If your camera has a video option you should let him use it. You would be amazed at how interesting the video comes out as well! I really like seeing the world from their height as well. Look at how much bigger your dog looks at Reece's height!
ReplyDeleteOh that is a great idea, maybe we will try that tomorrow. How fun!
DeleteReece has an eye for beauty just like his mother :)
ReplyDeleteAwe, you are too kind Karen, thank you.
DeleteLovely to see the world through his eyes. My 5 year old nephew is quite the shutterbug himself and it's always interesting to see the images he creates. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara, I am sure he will continue to amaze me with his photography.
DeleteBeautiful, thank you for the opportunity to see the world through 3 year old eyes!!
ReplyDeleteMy girls love the camera too. It is always a great surprise to see what they take pictures of and see through their own eyes. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is!
DeleteWell done Reece :) Good eye :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much, Kim, for your very encouraging and positive comment on my latest blog post. It's lovely and heartening to hear that the journey only gets better - especially when sometimes the feedback I get from others is a bit less than positive, scary and discouraging (I do my best to filter it out...).
So a very BIG thank you!
Thanks Renee. You are more than welcome :)
DeleteBeautiful shots. I too love taking walks with the camera. I totally get Reece's enthusiasm. And the 'oh man! I have 150 photos to filter through..."
ReplyDeleteThanks Amber. I love taking the camera on walks too, I guess that is where Reece gets it.
