Our Weekend


This weekend was:

:: the first pot of chili for the season with homemade bread on Friday night, yes it was delish
:: a lazy morning
:: the excitement of yet another egg in the chicken coop
:: a late morning trip to the Apple Festival
:: a little visit with my  brother and his family
:: an afternoon hike with my little man and then a puzzle in front of the fire
:: a quiet evening, needles in hand with a cup of tea
:: an early morning trail run in the rain
:: another egg in the coop, yay!!!
:: a relaxing breakfast and time to just be
:: dinner at my in-laws celebrating my sister in laws wedding anniversary
:: watching with a warm heart the love between cousins, it is pretty amazing
:: another quiet evening

  1. Sounds lovely! If you are looking for something to do nxt weekend the town of Ajax is putting on PUMPKINVILLE at Greenwood Conservation area nxt Sat 11-5pm. It's free & they will have carving contests, haunted house, petting zoo, etc. If you have time stop in! We plan on taking Bean.

  3. Great weekend! love chili and it does taste better when it's cold outside. We just got back from a weekend getaway and I need a lazy weekend to recover.

  4. My husband made the first batch of chili on Saturday too. I wanted to make some home made bread but just didn't get around to it. There's always next weekend!

  5. Don't you love that first pot of chilli or stew? I don't think any of the later ones compare. Not quite fire weather here yet, but soon.

    1. Thanks KC, it really was. And yes they do turn colour just like that, and there are giant leaves like that here. You will so many wonderful nature surprises when you move, so excited for you :)

  9. I really am envious of your chili, bread baking and sitting by the fire to knit weekend.
    As I am sitting here my air conditioner just cut on,again! I am so ready for cooler temps.
    How do you prepare your chili? I love to try new recipes.

    1. I wish I could send the cooler temps down to you Tracey. I can say for sure that my parents who are in Myrtle Beach right now are quite enjoying the warmer temperatures :)

      Here's my go to chili recipe, been using it for years http://yourgreenbaby.ca/?p=149 I actually throw everything in the crock pot and let it simmer all day, I find it tastes so much better that way. Enjoy!
