Crafting Spiders

I love nature, you knew that, right? And combining nature and crafting, well that makes for a great morning of fun, don't you think?

On Tuesday morning as we headed out for our walk I mentioned to Reece that we had a little mission...we had to find pine cones for a little craft project I had planned. So we headed into the woods looking for pine cones. We found a ton, and also stopped to build a little twig teepee for the forest fairies, it is getting cold at night you know?

Reece was pretty excited about our plans for the pine cones and couldn't wait to get started. I dug out the supplies and we got to it. I really didn't explain too much, I just started working on my own spider and let Reece either follow or do his own thing. We had a great time and made up four spiders. Three of them are hanging in front of a window and the last one has decided to join the nature table.

I think there will be more pine cone spiders in the days to come.

Oh, and when I got back from a trail run later in the day I was surprised to see our nature table spider had created a little web...oh cool!

  1. I love this idea! We collected a ton of pine cones & made a fall twig wreathe, but I might have to make some spiders with our leftovers! :) You are such a fun Mama Kim :) Reece must have such a blast with you everyday :)
