His Hand in Mine
It doesn't matter where we are...
:: a nature walk at home
:: an adventure walk on the hiking trails
:: at the grocery store
:: at the market
just about anywhere we go, the same little conversation starts each journey...
Reece: "Hold my hand."
Me: "Always."
I do hope he always wants to hold my hand, but I know the day will come when he won't.
So for now I will keep smiling each time we share this little conversation. I will hold on tight each time he puts his hand in mine. I will delight in the joy we both feel as we experience life, hand in hand.

I remember my father holding my hand and him telling me that someday I wouldn't want to do that anymore, and me thinking - never! Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteThanks, and me too :)
DeleteSo sweet! I remember my little boy holding my hand and now he is 19 yo!! No more hand holding but there is always a hug hello and goodbye :)

DeleteI love holding little hands! It took us a long time to work up to hand holding. And recently kiss and hugs have been accepted as well!
ReplyDeleteI love it too, feeling his little hand in mine, taking on the world together = best feeling in the world.

DeleteGood news, I am still having this conversation with my 6 year old, but as he says, "Now I hold YOUR hand Mama instead of you holding mine." It just gets sweeter and sweeter. Enjoy it!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is good news. Thanks for the heads up :)
DeleteHold tight Kim, I miss those days!
ReplyDeleteI will Tracey.
DeleteSo precious. My little guy reaches up without looking and I'm so glad that I'm there to take his hand. It makes my heart melt to know that he doesn't even need to look, he knows mama will be there. Let's hope this never goes away, ok? :)
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me Courtney.
DeleteSo very, very sweet.
ReplyDeleteAll mama's go through such similar depths of feeling.
Enjoying each fleeting moment.
I trust knowing that each stage is meaningful, and ultimately, we always hold them.
