Our Weekend

This weekend was:

:: a lovely morning visit with my first doula baby and his mama
:: an afternoon drive north to view the beautiful changing colours of the season
:: a quiet evening on the couch knitting, drinking tea and chatting with my best friend
:: an early morning run, then pumpkin french toast
:: a family hike
:: a lovely dinner, just the three of us, sharing our gratitude before our meal
:: another quiet evening with a little more knitting

Today will bring a little more time in nature with another little hike, some gardening - the garlic will go in the ground and the strawberries will be put to bed for the winter, some yard clean up and hopefully a quiet afternoon by the fire and a little family crafting.

Wishing all my Canadian friends a Happy Thanksgiving.

  3. Can't wait to try the Pumpkin French toast. What a lovely weekend... once again you inspire me to slow down (i.e., leave the mess and cleaning chores that keep building up) and just enjoy a walk in the woods. Thank you.

  13. Remember if you ever come North up by me to let me know, we can go for a hike! The colours up here this year are stunning, truly stunning. So much red and orange. I find myself stopping by the side of the road often just to take it all in.
    Sometimes when I make pumpkin pie, I make a double batch of the filling and then use that for French toast, it is heavenly. Your weekend sounds perfect. I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!
