"A photo of my little man, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Reece, no words can really describe the look on your face when we brought your new bike home this week. You were excited, happy, and I think, a little nervous, it is after all so much bigger than your last bike. But you hopped on, and you were off, the wind in your hair, enjoying the freedom that comes with riding a bike. I know that feeling well, and I am so happy that you now know it too. Enjoy the ride little man, enjoy the ride.

  1. I remember those days! Teaching them to ride their bikes, the happy looks on their faces when they figured it out, getting bigger bikes... Thanks for reminding me of those times!!

    1. Fond memories I bet :) This has been a big step up in bikes for him, and he has taken it all in stride and amazed me yet again.

So happy I could bring back some memories for you.

  2. How wonderful... The freedom and independence it brings. I remember it well. My husband will start commuting next week and he couldn't be happier. Little Miss is also thrilled to get back on this year. We are hoping to pop off the training wheels this Spring. *fingers crossed*

Have a great week-end my friend.

    1. It is pretty wonderful, for so many reasons. Watching him take off on his new bike was like watching him ride without training wheels the first time...so much pride on his face, and so much love in my heart.

      Thanks, you too!

  3. Hi Kim, I came across your blog yesterday and have been reading through old posts. I'm enjoying it so much. You seem to have a similar approach to mine as a parent. I'm a part-time homeschooler, I like to say; my children attend an alternative school in a program that has 50% classroom time and 50% homeschool. I'm looking forward to reading more about your and your family. This is a beautiful photo, your son must feel so good about his new bike and his growing confidence in riding. My children love to ride their bikes and I enjoy watching them gain strength and boldness the more they ride.

    1. Hello Jennifer, and welcome. So happy you have found me in this big blog world. I would love to hear more about your schooling arrangements, it sounds intriguing.

Thank you, he is loving his new bike, and watching him handle it, grow in confidence and trust in himself, and seeing the look of pride and joy on his face, well you know, makes my mama heart melt.

Popping over to your space now :)

    1. No :) I was walking the dog, and snapping a few pictures as he rode. I need to get myself a little touring bike to ride with him, all I have is my very high end road bike from my racing days.

Thanks, he is loving the new wheels. xo

    1. Very exciting! And yes, he was very confident, totally took me by surprise. I thought the move to the bigger bike might have him a little unsure, but he hopped on and away he went.

  11. Oh, Kim! Look at him go! There's a new bike in Emma's future too as she has truly outgrown the one currently in the basement! Watching them learn to ride a bike (like all things they learn) truly is a sight to behold! You can just tell how proud he is of his new bike and please tell him that we wish him many wonderful adventures on it! xo
