Off the Needles

It came off the needles almost a month ago, and judging by the many times I have worn, yes, I do indeed love my February Lady Sweater.

This was a top down knit, with a lovely repetitive pattern that was easy to memorize. I loved knitting it, and love wearing it even more. There will definitely be another in my future.

    1. Thank you! It is the perfect cardigan.

That is the gate that goes out to the "back forty". We added that ornament years ago, and love it!

  8. What a beautiful sweater and a lovely interesting way of presenting it. Is that door on your land? Such a detailed handel on such rustic wood, I wonder what it looked like when it was brand new?
Thank you for your beautiful card, it arrived today.

    1. Thanks Emma. Yes, it is a gate that goes out to the "back forty". Justin found it years ago, and we thought it looked lovely on the gate. Justin made the gate out of old barn boards.

      Wow, that was quick!

  11. Your February Lady Sweater is beautiful!! I adore the color you picked for it! I made one for myself a while back and it is one of my favorites. The only thing I changed was the sleeve length, I made my sleeves longer.

    1. Thanks Anke. And you see, I love it with the three quarter sleeves, that way they aren't getting in the way :)

Definitely added to my favourite knit list :)

  14. Beautiful, Kim! I especially love those handmade, I'm assuming ;), buttons. I've tried those myself quite a few times, but no matter what I do, they get huge cracks in our arid climate. I will try again someday, but for now I'll admire yours. Love the color too. Like Marigolds.

I've been sitting on this pattern for a while, I even already have the yarn. I thought it would be perfect for my mother, who has been asking for a sweater for several years. I'm not quite disciplined enough to take on adult sweaters. Vests I can usually manage. Although, I'm on year two of one for John. Well, maybe if I cast on now I'll have them both down by Christmas!

    1. Thanks Coco, and yes, handmade buttons. You can see a crack in one of them too, it happens. Yes, like marigolds, I like that :)

I think you should go for it, it is an awesome knit, and if you start now, you could definitely have it finished in time :)
