"A photo of my little man, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Reece, after spending most of the day outside, celebrating the arrival of spring, you came in from the mailbox with a big smile. Your magazine had arrived. As I put the kettle on, you settled in on your bed, flipping through the pages, lost in your own world, I am not even sure you head the click of my camera. This week you have shown great interest in learning to read. You have been copying words, and asking us what they say. You look at books, point at words, and wonder what they are. It is amazing to witness, to see you moving along your path, learning and growing, in your own way, and in your own time.

  1. It says A lot about how much time you spend outside that I scarcely recognised Reece without his hat on! It must be so exciting to be at the point of reading - so many adventures await him:)

    1. Haha, I know. We do spend a lot of time outside :) It is pretty exciting, we are not really doing much right now, just letting him play with the letters and the words. We will officially start grade 1 in September, and then get a little more serious.

No, I didn't make the quilt. I have yet to make one, although one day I would like to give making one a try.

    1. He is growing like a weed, and eating like a teenager :) It is lovely to watch it all come together, it will be a while before it "clicks" but seeing him enjoying books and words is wonderful.

      You too Yanic!

  7. The photo speaks very clear about how Reece is growing, having every day more and more curiosity about everything surronding him. ... amazing all the stages they go through, my little girl, Ilianna is gonna be three the next thursday and it really amazes me how she says, do or react in a new way every day, so yes really amazing!!

    1. We are in the midst of lots of growth right now Karen, and I can't keep up :)

He has been getting a magazine called High Five for a few years now, and he just loves it. His Godparents get it for him, and every month he waits patiently for its arrival.

  10. He is looks so engrossed in what he is reading. I can hardly believe how fast he is growing up. I sometimes sit and look at pictures of my wee ones and marvel at how much they have changed in such a short time. It is truly a blessing to watch them grow.

  11. My girl has her own special subscription to a magazine herself. Now that she's reading, she loves when it comes in the mail and then hides away in her room with it as well! Great shot.

    1. Thanks! Yes, totally, especially so for my little man, because he is often on the go non stop from the moment he gets up til he crashes at night, so seeing this makes my mama heart happy.

    1. It is so very special Jenny. He is reading High Five. His Godparents got him the subscription a few years ago, and keep renewing for him. He really enjoys it. I think it is meant for kids 3 to 5, but at 6, Reece still loves it. Next year we might try the one for the 6 to 9 age group.

It has some stories in it, a photo search and find, other little games, and always a little something to do. He really enjoys it.
