It moves forward
every second clicking by,
not one faster than the other,
yet sometimes it feels so.
Time,
you remind me to slow down.
I notice how fast the years have done by,
specifically the last five,
but I have learned to stop.
Not you, time,
but me.
Stop,
capture the moment
or moments,
breathe deep
and imprint them on my memory,
where they stay,
forever.
Time,
you will never stand still, or
slow down,
but I can slow down,
soak up this life,
here, right now,
even as you
keep clicking by.

How interesting that you should post this today. Last night I choose my word for the year and it is SLOW. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm...we are thinking the same, that doesn't surprise me my friend :)
DeleteGreat word, can't wait to follow your year of slow living.
yes! time stops for no man but i believe that slowing down, sinking in, soaking it up will certainly slow it down :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the way I see my days. To stop and breathe deeply and create - always creating :0) mari
ReplyDeleteThat is a good way to see your days, a good way indeed :)

ReplyDeleteI journaled on "time" this morning. I think slowing down might just be the solution to my dilemma of feeling like time goes by too quickly. xo
Thanks Meghann. I think so too :)
DeleteA really lovely post for the days after the holidays when everyone has been so busy. Winter is the perfect time to slow down and reflect.
