Fresh Snow

Fresh snow,
no tracks,
just white.

It calls out,
come play!

There is a hesitation,
so much beauty,
untouched,
natural.

Another call,
come play!

Then the first step.
Followed by
another.
And another.
Now running,
laughing,
playing.

There is nothing
quite like those first steps
in fresh snow.

  1. I love this and it's so true. Snow untouched. It's so hard to take that first step but once you do it's so fun to get into. Hope your snow stays - it's beautiful!

  2. Enjoy your snow. This morning I blew bubbles to watch them freeze and threw a cup of boiling water in the air to watch it turn to snow..I love winter.

    1. Oh yes, we have those too. Just a few days ago this same patch was covered in shrew and rabbit tracks. Thank goodness for fresh snow :)
