Our Weekend





Weekends are suppose to start on Friday, right? Ours do, and we like it that way. As Reece and his friends ran off into the woods for their Forest Friday program I headed off on a solo hike with my camera. It was a lovely few hours spent in the woods, wandering and at one point sitting in a cedar forest for a little meditation.  As I hiked out I spied my little man and his friends and for a short time I stood and watched the kiddos having a snack in the snow. To be on the outside, looking in, to witness this gathering of children in the woods, holding space in a circle...made my heart melt.

Waldorf playgroup began our day on Saturday, and then I took my little man out for a lunch date. A little stop to pick up some stationary and then home for the rest of the day. There was reading, knitting, writing and a long soak in the tub.

I quietly left the house Sunday morning after breakfast and found a little corner in the coffee shop to hide away in. There was writing, reading and a little people watching. Back at home Justin and Reece were busy flying paper airplanes and drawing. The afternoon was filled with more paper airplanes, puzzles, a little catching up and just hanging out. The perfect way to end a pretty perfect weekend.

    Yes, I think weekends begin on Friday, at least they always do here.
    I went hiking too, it was wonderful. There really is something about being in nature that is good for the soul.

    Such pretty pictures! Our snow is all gone and we had lots of rain. But today is supposed to be warmer and we shall finally see some sun. And yes, weekends always begin on Friday! Have a wonderful week.

      Thank you! Our snow has slowly been disappearing too, it was raining a little yesterday and then today was much warmer, more rain coming this evening. Hope you have a lovely week.

    So wonderfully slow! Your response to my joy of cold weather made me chuckle. Indeed -40F is colder than 37F :)

    beautiful photos and a winter's day. We are flooded with sunshine and melted everything. I am home again after a visit to my sister's and I'm in the midst of nesting (not!! pregnant).

      It did KC! And I thought you were talking about your weekend being wonderfully slow, but yes, mine was too :) I really like weekends, and really, all days to be like that. Slow is good for me and our little family. And it feels so right in this world that is moving much too fast for me. Have a lovely evening my friend xo

    Sounds lovely! Mine was quite hectic with a trip to Pennsylvania, and a sick goat at the beginning of it! It was an extraordinary visit to see my son at college though. Enjoy your week!
