Yay for snow!!! Our snow removal service actually had to start this morning. We got about a foot! :-) The fox is so sweet... where did you get ll those lovely patterns?
Yes, ours has been working since Sunday, it has snowed for two days straight, finally stopped last night. Now it is windy and cold, and I am trying to convince myself that I should head out for a run :)
Thanks, those patterns are from the lovely Alicia Paulson, you can see all of her beautiful things in her shop....http://aliciapaulson.com/
Yep... snow stopped here too. I chickened out and drove Nevaeh to preschool this morning. We are at -14'C with windchill from -1'C... Crazy out there! Stay warm mama and thank you for the link... That might be on my Xmas to-do list for next year! :-)
The snow looks wonderful can't wait to get some. I'm sure I will have to wait a while before I"ll see any of the good white stuff. What are you making in the second picture?
It is! It is funny, for me too, to look at photos of my friends from Australia and New Zealand as you enjoy spring and summer. Our world is a pretty amazing place.
I am curious about the stars too. Do you just start in the cookie cutter and then when the initial shape is form remove it to felt with the bubble wrap in a regular fashion? I think my littles would love (and could do!) this.
Snow looks so lovely! I hope we get lots this year. It's been a few years since we've had really good snow weather for more than about a day.
Your littles would love it Coco, and you would too :) Here's a little video a friend did on the technique....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPx-YDm4F6s
Yes, it is lovely, especially at this time of the year, in February it won't be so lovely. I do hope you get some, we had a few winters like that too, but last year got dumped on. We had snow til April.
It looks like a really fun day. I too was going to ask about the stars! Thanks for sharing the link - and funny to find that it was in reply to Coco as it was via her blog that I arrived here!
That first snowfall is always so magical. We will be trapped inside today, it is -19C out there right now, with the windchill. I think we will head out for a short nature walk and then snuggle down in front of the fire with books and hot chocolate :)
My kiddies were in their glory yesterday!! I just got in from walking them to school and it is definitely nippy with a strong wind, but magical nonetheless :) Enjoy your day, and stay warm!
Just look at all your snow! Oh Kim, such beauty in your world. I looked at Mr. Fox and Miss Rabbit, just waiting to find out if the newest wee one will be a boy or a girl before I order. Are they hard to make?
It is beautiful right now Tracey, and we are really enjoying it. Although today the winds are strong, and it it very cold....right now -14C with the windchill.
Oh what a perfect gift for the new baby. Not hard at all. The sewing is a bit tricky, as the clothes are so small, but it was very manageable.
Again, love this morning, noon, night post. I love how it lets us right into your life - just little glimpses. Yay, for snow. Looks like your family embraces it. If I did a morning-noon-night for my little guy yesterday it would have been morning (outside in pjs and boots playing with the snow), noon (outside at school making 'forts' out of snow with the other kids), night (building a snowman in our front yard with the small dustings of snow from the entire neighborhood's front yards as the sun sets).
A beautiful day. I love the snow though so I might be a tad biased;) I know what your doing there in the afternoon :D how did they turn out? And that fox is adorable... Again. Slightly biased;) have a blessed day.
I know! Amazing! That roving became stars. The yellow is wool that the kiddos and I carded, and then dyed. We wet felted stars yesterday and once they are dry we will make a star garland with them.
We are having rain today out here in Nova Scotia - it’s like the weather hasn’t quite figured out what to do yet! I’m going to check out both links you listed in the comments. I have a ton of wool roving to be put to good use and so much material. Love the pics - we have been doing Waldorf the past couple of years and the boys love it!!
I think I prefer the snow, at least at this time of year :) The wet felting is a great way to use up the roving, so many things you can do. We have also done wet felting pictures on a wool background...the kids love it!
I didn't know you were Waldorf, that is awesome! Glad you and your boys are enjoying it.
that's a really lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, it was well enjoyed by all of us :)

I'm finding it hard to comprehend that it's snowing there already! We're heading into summer here. :)

DeleteWe do embrace. If it is going to snow for 5 months of the year, we might as well get out there and enjoy it...right?
Sounds like your little guy really enjoys the snow :)
