The Power of the Circle
I was fortunate enough to attend a pretty amazing set of workshops this weekend. Although I can't quite put into words yet how I am feeling about the weekend, what I can tell you is this...there is power in the circle.
This is not the first workshop I have been to where the circle is used instead of rows of chairs, but it never ceases to amaze me the power sitting in a circle with others has. It opens up the room, it forces you to look at others in the circle, it makes it much more inviting to share and open up, and it feels like whatever you say is held in the sacred space of the circle.
A circle is whole, and that wholeness feels safe. There is balance and a connection to the rhythmic cycles of the world around us within the circle. For me, it is a very magical place to be and each time I have the opportunity to sit in one I am inspired by the strength and power of the circle.
The first few days of this week have found me floating high on the clouds of inspiration and hope after the weekend. It was a weekend of wonderful moments strung together with love and gratitude. There were new connections made and old connections deepened. There were tears shed and smiles shared. There were things learned and experiences never to be forgotten. It was powerful and inspiring and will be with me for quite some time.
