Yarn Along

I am knitting away on my Shalom, learning new stitches and looking forward to trying it on...soon. I had high hopes of having it done before we left for our little road trip but that won't happen. So I will be taking it along with me and knitting away when I get the chance.

Doula reading is still taking up most of my time, but I did crack open When Children Love to Learn, and am enjoying it.

Wanted to ask if you will make it down to Charleston during your visit? MB is just so far for me to get to this time of the year. My power is iffy right now,but will try and get an email to you before the beginning of the week.

  12. I always like to take a little knitting on a trip. You never know when you're going to have an odd moment of waiting. I love how soft and squishy that yarn looks!

  13. When do you take off? I do wish we could meet you along your travels, but it's not as close as that. And the baby boy does not yet love the car :)

    1. We leave next Wednesday Lisa. And I know, I looked it up. We would have been up for a drive your way for a day or two, but I know things have been crazy at your home and it is not the best time :)

  15. Hi Kim, I have just come across your blog via Soulemama, and wanted to respond to this post. 'When children love to learn' was edited and written by a lady I know, from the church I grew up in, here in Hampshire, England. I read it a few years ago and it influenced my own thoughts about eduation. I'm pretty sure that one of the articles in the book is by Susan Macaulay; she has been a long-time supporter of Charlotte Mason's approach to education, and is herself an inspiring woman. When I was little she was my sunday school teacher! I remember sitting in her sitting room with the other children, utterly spellbound as she told us a story. You could have heard a pin drop. Have fun knitting your Shalom. I've used that pattern twice and loved it so much, I'm very tempted to make another one! Sounds perfect road trip knitting, I'd say. Very best regards, Hannah

    1. Oh wow, how amazing that must have been. I was reading a little more last night and I just find myself nodding my head agreeing with so much of it. It is my first foray into Charlotte Mason, I am really enjoying it. Thanks so much for sharing :)

Loving the Shalom, although had to do a little unknitting last night, which didn't make me too happy, but it was my fault for not paying attention. Back on track now :)
