Yarn Along

Reece loved his whale! And I was very pleased with how it turned out and am pretty excited to try more of Linda's patterns.

After requesting a pair of fingerless mitts, I set Reece free in my stash of yarn so he could pick something he liked. He picked red, which didn't surprise me at all. I finished them up on Sunday night and when he saw them Monday morning he squealed in delight making my heart melt.

And then I promptly cast on something for me. I am only a few rows in, but hope to be well on my way by next week.

I also found a little bit of time to do some needle felting, creating some colourful spring flowers that I hope to use for a little bunting.

Doula reading has been my main focus on the reading front, but I did get a chance to read through this magazine which I received in November. It was my first issue and it is pretty awesome!

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  1. It is so nice to hear how excited Reece was to see his mitts. And red, that is Emerson's favorite color, along with orange.

I am glad you are knitting something for you, it is going to be beautiful.

PS- I haven't forgotten and will get an email to you by the end of the week.:)

    1. Thanks KC! I sort of created one using this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-fingerless-mitts-2 I cast on 28 stitches, did 1 inch of rib and stockinette stitch, only did 4 rounds of the thumb shaping and then finished with 1 inch of ribbing. I wasn't sure if it would work, but was really happy it did. And they knit up quick, took me about 90 minute to make one. Have fun!
