Candlemas

"At the beginning of February, when the infant light of spring is
greeted thankfully by the hoary winter earth,
it seems fitting we should celebrate a candle Festival to remember that moment
when the Light of the World was received into the Temple, when the old yielded to the new.”
~ from All Year Round ~

A simple celebration to celebrate our first Candlemas - sharing time in nature together as a family, making our first earthen candle, playing by the fire all afternoon, and enjoying dinner by candlelight. It was a quiet family day reflecting on our journey and sharing our light with each other.

Spring is coming and while we do enjoy the beauty winter brings us, we are looking forward to the freshness of spring and the light it will bring.

  8. We also celebrated our first Candlemas this year! I wish we could have done the earth candle too though, but we were too burried into snow to do it, hopefully next time. Yours look beautiful :)
