Yarn Along
I finished up another pair of fingerless mitts, again for a friend. Reece is now asking for a pair, so I think I might just cast on a pair for him. I do hope his love of things made by mama continues for a long time.
And speaking of things made by mama, I purchased a pattern from my lovely sponsor and have been knitting it up for Reece for Valentine's Day. I can't tell you how much fun it has been to knit this up. I still have to sew up the tail and add the fins, but it will be ready for Thursday. Can't wait to try more of Linda's patterns.
I have also decided on my next project and am pretty excited about it. The yarn in the background will be perfect!
There hasn't been much reading this week, a little doula reading and that is it.
What have you been knitting and reading?

Reece is going to love it. I do adore Linda, her patterns and her heart.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn you picked out will make a beatiful sweater Kim and that color is perfect for you.
I hope so :) And I agree with everything you said about Linda.
DeleteI love fingerless mitts -- so handy and fun/quick to knit, too! And that little whale is just adorable. -- Kathy at http://www.needleandspade.com
ReplyDeleteMe too! Thanks!
DeleteLove the whale! The sweater is going to be very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathleen.
DeleteThat whale is so adorable! I think if Reece grows up with mama made stuff, he will always want it. Mostly, my boys just think it's funny. However, my youngest wants a mama made sweater. That thrilled me.
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely that he asked for a sweater, it melts my heart when Reece asks for hand knits :) I do hope it continues, but for now I will just soak it all up and enjoy.
DeleteOoooh, I love the whale!!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm finishing up one more hat that was a special request, and then I can start with my first crochet animal, I'm quite excited about that.
I'm pretty sure Sylvia made one of these shalom cardigans before, it's a pretty pattern!
Thanks Simona. Can't wait to see you animal, they are so fun to knit and I bet crocheting one will be just as fun.
DeleteThe whale is so cute! You are just rocking on those gloves!!
ReplyDeleteThanks KC! The gloves are so easy to knit, and provide that instant gratification that is always nice.
DeleteOooh, i saved that shalom cardigan to my library a week ago. can't wait to see yours finished.
ReplyDeleteI am can't wait to get started on it, it will take some time, but exciting to be knitting up my first cardigan.
DeleteI love those fingerless mitts! I am about 1.5 inches into my first knit project so those are still probably a bit down the line for me! But goals are good, right?!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first project, how exciting. The learning curve is really quick, if you know how to knit, purl, cast on and off, these gloves are super easy.
Deletehe is going to love that whale!! Great idea :) You sure are generous with your fingerless mitts!
ReplyDeleteI hope so, we will see tomorrow morning :) And thank you!
DeleteExciting stuff! I especially heart the whale! :)
ReplyDeleteI have Linda's whale pattern as well, and I will (eventually) knit that up. Her patterns are amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great one, an easy to follow pattern and it looks awesome when done :)
DeleteOooh - I've heard such wonderful things about Shalom - can't wait to see yours!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get started on it :)
