I am working on Milo number five and it is going well. I decided to knit another one up in this lovely brownish coloured yarn. It was my favourite of all the Milos I have knit so far and I just had to do another one.
The reading has been a little slow this week, I spent most of the weekend in the kitchen canning, and when I wasn't canning I was making salves and knitting. Oh and I had my little man running around at my feet. Good times it was. So a little bit of doula reading to keep me going on my studies and that is it.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

I bet you a penny (canadian or american) that you have that pattern memorized by now! Lovely as always.
ReplyDeletePretty close :)
DeleteHow long does it take you to make those puppies? You knock them out pretty quickly. I bet you could do them in your sleep! The color is yummy!
ReplyDeleteNot too long :) I have enjoyed knitting them a lot, most likely because they are all going to special babes arriving over the next few months.
DeleteI love, LOVE that color! Perfect for this morning when I can just start to feel how it's going to be fall in a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteMe too! It is already starting to feel like fall here...cool night, chilly mornings and the leaves are starting to change just a bit. I love summer, but I do love the change of seasons, and fall is a favourite time of year for me.
DeleteI have also only been getting quick snitches of reading (and knitting).... there is a lot to keep us busy during the summer, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteThere is! And I love all of it :)
DeleteGreat shade of coppery brown! Makes me think of autumn (it won't be long now!).
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria. And you are right, it won't be long. I am looking forward to it.
DeleteI'm still looking for a hat pattern for that purple yarn. I just can't decide!
ReplyDeletePick one mama! I wish I could send you the ribbed hat pattern I knitted up for my nephew and nieces for Christmas, it is a great pattern. Hey, I could put it in the mail for you??? Let me know if you want me to.
Deletei might just have to get that pattern. they look so sweet and that color is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great pattern, I really like it. Knitting one up for my little man next :)
DeletePerfect for fall Kim, I love the color!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are able to can and put up food for this winter, it is such a great feeling isn't it?
What kind of salves are you making? I haven't done any, but would love to learn.
Thanks Tracey. And yes feels great to get food put away for winter, both the freezer and the pantry are slowing filling up.
DeleteI did a comfrey lavender salve. Really easy to do, soak the herbs in oil, strain, add in some beeswax, melt together and then pour into containers and let set.
Sounds easy enough and I actually have everything so I am going to try it today. Thanks Kim.
DeleteHope it works out Tracey.
DeleteYou are really getting those Milo sweater vests done! I'm impressed. I really love the color of yarn. I think I will have to make the girls each one for Christmas! Happy Knitting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I really love this colour too. My little man is getting one for Christmas too :)
DeleteSuch an earthy colour. That's gonna look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWow! Sounds like you've had a busy week. I have always wanted to make salves, something lovely and alchemical about the whole process! The Milos are looking beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt has been busy, but oh so fun :) I love making them and I am with you the whole process is what makes it so very lovely.
