{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words -
capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary
moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see. Inspired by Soulemama.
They are Shel, swimming up stream to spawn. Unfortunately there is a little dam there and the fish ladder to get up was created for trout, the salmon are too big to get up. They are in the process of building a new ladder for them.
Beautiful! Am I seeing butterflies out there? here's ours: http://littlecoffeebeans.typepad.com/blog/2012/08/this-moment-3.html Enjoy your weekend and I hope your fellas are on the mend!
What a great moment to happen upon while out on a hike. Your hiking pictures are always amazing looking. I think it is time for our family to plan a trip to the wilderness a little farther up north. Happy Weekend!
That reminds of the time I took a trip to Alaska with my grandparents in an old van my grandpa converted to a sleeper. We fished for salmon in river full of fish. I still have the note book I kept for that month long journey when I was 14. I will be doing long trips with the girls one day for sure! Have a great weekend!
I bet that was pretty cool KC. There is no fishing within 25 meters of the dam, but just down stream there was a group of men fishing and taking home dinner.
Wow, what an amazing sight!
ReplyDeleteThis week the boys took it upon themselves to start preparing for winter by stacking wood.

Thanks Lisa. I think what you are seeing is the fins of the salmon peeking up from the water.
