Yarn Along

Two of my favourite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Joining Ginny for Yarn Along.

Well, I just cast off the back of my vest, yay!!! So for now the needles are empty, but not for long, I will be casting on the front tomorrow. Last week, during unseasonably warm temperatures, I wondered if I was crazy knitting a vest for myself, but this week March weather, as we know it, has returned, which means my vest will come in very handy once I get it finished.
I am still reading The Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature. I have to admit I didn’t get much of a chance to read a lot from this book this week, as my issue of Taproot arrived...finally. So I had my nose buried in that. And I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What are you reading and knitting this week?

  1. Isn't Taproot amazing! I think I've poured over this one longer than I've read any magazine ever. It's just beautiful! Your vest is looking good. We've had some more March like weather as well.

  6. Taproot arrived here too over a week ago, but I've been so busy that I've haven't been able to sit down to read it yet. Good for you about the vest. Last week, we reached into the 80s (crazy!) but the weather settled down just a tad into its regular (whatever that is) routine for March. I'm hoping not to see those 80 temps for another few months, but who knows. I say, keep going with the vest - you'll always use it next winter...

    1. I agree Ellen, I will keep working on it. I am sure I will wear it before next winter, summer nights can sometimes get cool around here.

  7. Hooray for casting off! I think where you live that a vest in March would be a good idea. Glad to hear you are enjoying Taproot!
    Happy Yarn along day.

  8. the good news is that if the weather doesn't cooperate, you can put the vest aside until next year and have something to look forward to!

  9. I read Taproot last week...sort of like leafing through some of the blogs I like.

I've never been big on vests, but my little girl, who never seems to want to wear a cardigan, is very partial to them, and so I seem to be looking at many vest patterns suddenly!

  11. yay for casting off, i hope you'll share the finished vest! i was feeling the same way when i picked up the shalom cardigan again, in a super warm and fuzzy yarn. but then i figured i'll probably end up falling into a snail's pace with knitting when the warm weather arrives, and it will be a beautiful sweater to finish for the fall :)
