Two of my favourite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Joining Ginny for Yarn Along.
So, after last week’s empty needles, I hit the yarn shop to find some yarn to knit up a little vest for myself. Something simple I can throw on and take off as needed for a chilly morning in the garden in the spring or a cool evening by the fire in the summer. This vest should work perfectly. It is actually my first time knitting a piece of clothing for myself, hopefully it will fit.
I am still enjoying The Coyote's Guide to Connecting with Nature. I am on the chapter about Childhood Passions. It is about thinking back to our passions as a child in the outdoor world and bringing them back now to either enjoy nature more ourselves or to entice others to enjoy nature. We all have a little person inside of us waiting to be rediscovered and this chapter is about just that, reigniting the passion and magic of childhood.
What are you knitting and reading this week?
Love the colours of the cardi, I hope it fits. That book sounds very interesting indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, me too!
DeleteBeautiful yarn! I'm not sure I like knitting garments for myself...I'm too impatient and the fit thing scares me to death. There is definitely something beautiful and magical about watching a child outside. The whole world there to discover. We do lose that as adults...thanks for the reminder :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have my fingers crossed it all works out. I love watching Reece outside exploring, it is totally amazing to me and reminds me to find my inner child and explore with him.
Deletesomething for you! hooray!
ReplyDeleteHooray indeed!
DeleteI like wearing vests to keep the chill off, too....it is just.right. I'm still considering this Coyote book so please keep posting about it! Joining you on a Yarn Along today..
ReplyDeleteThey really are perfect for that. And yes, I will keep posting about it, right til the end :) It is a really great book.
DeleteOh, how fun to be knitting your first bit of clothing for yourself. I hope it fits perfectly!
ReplyDeleteMe too Jessica :)
DeleteOh that looks like a lovely vest :) I love knitting for me- because I know I appreciate my work LOL Sounds like an interesting book :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, haha. It is pretty interesting, it came highly recommended to me and I am really enjoying it.
DeleteThat yarn is such a lovely color! So many yarn alongers are knitting shawls or cardi's for themselves this spring and I am thinking it is due time I knit one for myself! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Amy, go for it. I actually just finished a shawl for myself too. Wow, I have been knitting for myself a lot lately..time to knit for someone else soon.
DeleteWhat a beautiful day to take a photo! This spring has been amazing so far. Love the cardi but then I am partial to anything that buttons or zips up in front.
ReplyDeleteIt most certainly was, we have been blessed with some amazing weather for March, we are usually still covered in snow.
DeleteEnjoying the sun and knitting something for yourself. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes, just perfect!
