My son (now 18 yo) loved to collect all kinds of creatures and then release. Have a lovely weekend!
Reece spent about an hour the other day searching for critters in a piece of driftwood I removed from a garden so I could rake it. He found a ton of little bugs and had a blast.
Oh what fun, what little creatures did he find to look at? I think we need one of those this year. Here is mine this week, my littlest enjoying the summer like weather here...http://www.darkbluedragon.com/node/120
He had a great time! There are lady bugs in there, some worms and a few other little critters, not quite sure what they are :)
Little boys and their love of bugs... GREAT moment! Have a wonderful weekend with your boy!

He was, for at least an hour, picking up bugs and adding them to his collection.
We used to catch all kinds of bugs when the boys were little. We even had the same little habitat.
I was so happy to find that the other day, Reece had been collecting bugs and putting them in air tight containers, broke my little heart that he didn't understand why that wasn't a good idea, it was a little hard to explain to him.
ooh! i wonder what kinds of bugs he has in there?
Lady bugs, worms and some other little critter :)
Ooh - what a fun discovery must be in there. Hope you've had a great week and have a lovely weekend!
He had a great time with his bugs.
Oh, the memories! All my guys had the same little bug houses when they were small. I use to have the hardest time as a young mom since I was a city girl with two sisters. Now, I'm an old pro! Your wee one is such a handsome young man and I hope he enjoys many bugs in the years to come.Have a great weekend!
Glad I could bring back some happy memories Tracey. I am not a big bug person, but it is amazing what a little boy with questions and the need to explore can do...he had me picking up worms and other critters. We had a great time!
What a handsome young naturalist!
Reece is so... gorgeous. I wonder what he's looking at.My moment is at:http://julie-beautyintheeveryday.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/this-moment_23.htmlHave a lovely weekend Kim. xxoo
Thanks Julie. He has a little collection of critters in there :)
Oh, what a lovely thing to do! Where did you find the box? Or did you make it?
Thanks Rachael, he loves collecting bugs. We picked up the box at a little store in Toronto, but I have seen them online. It would be easier enough to make as well, which was our plan until I saw it in the store and decided to pick it up. It was locally made so I felt good about the purchase :)
