Friends Across the Miles

When I began writing this blog I never in my wildest dreams thought I would find community, but I did. I have found like minded moms, moms who are raising their children naturally, homeschooling, life learning, growing their own food, knitting, sewing, cooking from scratch, raising backyard chickens, and so on. It has been amazing and fills my heart with both happiness and gratitude.
As many of you know choosing the parenting path we are on is not always easy. It can be difficult to connect with like minded families and so this online community has been wonderful. I feel so great reading their blogs, sharing in the adventures, and learning more about them and their families.
One such person is KC Pagano from Little Homestead in the Desert. We connected in December and since then I have loved getting to know her better through her blog, twitter and emails. So, you can imagine my joy when a lovely package arrived in the mail last week from KC. I was overjoyed.
Take a peek at what was inside:

About a month ago KC did a little giveaway for one of her lovely aprons, of course I entered, who couldn’t use another apron and the one she was giving away was beautiful. I didn’t win, but KC emailed me the same day to say she was going to make me one. Wow!!!! What a lovely, unexpected surprise.
So when the package arrived I quickly opened it, and not only found my lovely new apron, but a wonderful card featuring KC’s photography and little bit of spring from the dessert – a few pressed flowers.

It was enough to make my day and once again remind me about the wonderful community I have found.
Thanks KC.
Do you like the apron? Then hop on over to the tutorial KC has on her site so you can make yourself one.
