I love Kate Morton, such a talented writer who always make you want to read just one more page. Slow Sunday's really are filling, I like that Kim. and now I hope you are enjoying a great Monday!
Simple is the best isn't it? Your Sunday looks like a very fulfilling day to me too. We had a similar Sunday. We did not really leave the house, had no plans, and just puttered around working on small projects we've been meaning to get too but could just never find the time.
It really is. Isn't it wonderful to have no plans as you move into the weekend? It is how we entered this weekend, and exactly how we will enter this coming weekend too :)
Sounds like you had a good Sunday too, puttering around the house is always good.
What a wonderful day! And a yummy picnic! We just finished 5 weekends of putting new flooring in our house. As of yesterday we finished it. Now we can get back to fun weekend outings like the one you all had!
It looks a perfect, nurturing kind of day...just what we need on a Sunday!
(I have been a bit under the weather for a few days and it has delayed me sending my latest letter...should be heading your way in the next couple of days though...keep an eye out for the mail man! :)
It came pretty close Alyssa, but as you know there are always ups and downs in a day, I just choose to share the ups :)
The book, amazing! Actually finished it this afternoon. Highly recommend it. I am hoping, in the next few weeks, to get my 2015 reading list up on the blog. I had a goal this year to read more fiction, and so far have read 30, some of them really great reads, and I would love to share what I have been reading.
I read that book and enjoyed it! I love your picnic and water visiting and knitting!! What could possibly be added? Oh and you had a nice weather day too.
I had a similar time in the north of the state - spending time exploring the banks of a lake, marvelling at the force of nature which had eroded the soil from around the roots of trees. I learned so much by simply being quiet, observing and taking photos. I couldn't help but think of you and your family on your nature walks. :)
It was pretty awesome Shel, and if you could have joined us with your lovely family, well it would have been just perfect! One day, my friend, one day...
The book was amazing, highly recommend it. Just before this one I read Night Road by Kristin Hannah, highly recommend that one too. Happy reading my friend. xo
Starts with a book - day out with your family - finished with a bit of knitting - does it get much better than that! (and the food looks pretty amazing too!)
We did, thanks Kathleen. There is a variety of containers there...the square glass one is from Wean Green, the round glass ones are by Anchor, the stainless steel with the two sides is by LunchBots, and the round stainless steel is from a local store. Hope that helps :)
What a remarkable post. Not including a lot of writing really added to the affect, and conveyed the simplicity of your day more than what any words could. Just magic Kim xx PS and is it just me, but does your world seem SO GREEN at the moment?
Aw, thank you Chrisy. It is amazing the story a series of photos can tell. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Nope, not just you, we are full GREEN right now, and it is amazing!!! After all the white this winter, and the cold temperatures, I can't tell you how happy all this green is making me :)
Looks like summer has arrived early where you are! Beautiful photos!! I've never read any Morton books. I should add one to my summer reading list. I just finished Call The Midwife The Memoirs. Loved it!! Love the show too. :) Happy days to you Kim!!
It certainly has, and we are loving it! This was my first one, and I loved it, such a great read, definitely add one of her books to your reading list, I don't think you will regret it.
