Gratitude

~ for wild flowers still blooming, a wonderful reminder to never give up, even if the odds are stacked against you

~ for moments of stillness when I can look around and really notice how beautiful this life is

~ for warm autumn days filled with sunshine

~ for the beauty of spent flowers

~ for time, in the early morning darkness, to center and ground myself

~ for pockets of time, here and there, to feed my creative soul

~ for close encounters in the woods

~ for the slow, simple rhythm of our days

What are you most grateful for today?

  1. my life, my health, my family and friends. The stillness of each morning as I sit and ponder. Frodo walking and talking with my husband. Planning the holidays that are nearing.

  2. Just a beautiful list for sure. Look at the beauty! I can't believe how close he was to you guys. I'm grateful for the naturally slowed down rhythm that comes with November being right at our doorstep. Many find it to be the start of the hectic holiday season, I find it soothing. I enjoy the short days, I find, like you, great comfort and solace in those darker mornings and evenings.

    1. Thanks Yanic. Yes, that hawk was very close, and hung around us for quite some time. I am pretty sure he was more interested in finding breakfast than being too close to us. It was amazing!

Hectic, what is that? We don't do hectic :) It is a comforting time of year, and I love the solace I find in it.

    1. It is always nice when we can see through to the real issue. Yay for garlic!!! We planted lots a few weeks ago, it is now tucked in and sleeping soundly under layers of leaves and straw :)

    1. That is the best, a weekend of no plans. We have the same kind of weekend ahead of us, well except we are getting snow. But there are no plans except to get outside for a hike, and then just hang out. We are looking forward to it.

      Enjoy your weekend.

  6. For friends who do not judge, but see that when you are not at your best, it just means you need a little more love! And for the things about ourselves that our children reflect back to us, gently nudging us to keep striving for the highest in ourselves.
