    1. Me too! Yes, I am reading it to Reece, every night before bed, and he is loving it. We tried Little House on the Prairie last year, but he didn't love it as much as Anne of Green Gables. Maybe I will give Farmer Boy a go after this and see what he thinks of it. Thanks for the suggestion :)

It was a lovely day, we were so happy to finally see the sunshine again.

  2. Looks like a lovely, sunshine filled day. And I haven't read Anne for years, must dig it out again. So glad you and Reece are enjoying it together, one of life's bigger pleasures I think, to read books to your children that you both enjoy and look forward to.

    1. It was, finally. The sun has been hiding on us this week, but finally made an appearance yesterday, with some warmer temperatures.

I am the same, can't remember the last time I read it, and am so happy to be reading it with Reece. He is so excited about it, sometimes he grabs the book for a little afternoon reading session because he can't wait to see what happens next.

It's nice to see your outdoor activities, we are under another heat wave so I am hiding inside.

  7. I love your window covered box... that has been on my to-make list for years-- we just don't really have the space. I loved Anne of GG as a kiddo. Would be fun to read again. Are you reading it to Reece or on your own?

    1. Thanks Taryn. We are trying our hand at some winter gardening this year, a little experiment I hope is successful.

Yes, I am reading it to Reece, and he is loving it.

  8. What a lovely day and what a classic! Can't wait to read it with our little miss. For now, she seems more content with shorter books, but next year, we should be ready. One she has shown interest in is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett... :-)

Hope the rest of your week is just as lovely!

    1. Thanks Yanic. Reece has only just been able to sit for the chapter books. We tried Little House on the Prairie, and The Secret Garden last year, and he wasn't interested in either of them. I brought out Anne of Green Gables about ten days ago and he has been hooked. It is really wonderful to share it with him, and I am enjoying reading it aloud. xo

  9. I was looking for Anne of Avonlea on Audible yesterday to listen to while on the treadmill! Something must be in the air with all of us needing a little bit of "Anne Girl" ... maybe it's the end of summer? I will work on my post for later... love this idea!

    1. You know, I saw the movies as a kid, and haven't watched them since. Will be fun to watch them with my little man one day.

Here's the ISBN 978-1-85326-139-8 I picked up this copy last year at Chapters, it was $3. There were a few other classics there and I wish now I had picked them up.

      Hope your niece enjoys it.

Quick question for you Beth, do you blog? I can't seem to connect to your blog if you do. Leave a link so I can visit you too :)

    2. LOL I wished I did blog but I have never figured it out. I set up a google account but can't seem to get the blog going. I have a good friend who said she would help me get started if I can just find the time to get over to her house.

Also they do have a cartoon of Anne of green gables that I used to watch with my son when he was a little guy. They are awesome also.
      Thanks for the isbn
