Our Weekend

With both Justin and I recovering from head colds this weekend, we kept things pretty simple around these parts. Reece and I attended Waldorf playgroup on Saturday morning and then we had a little lunch date before heading home. I love our little lunch dates. We hit local spots that serve healthy foods, we talk, we laugh, we play I Spy and we eat. Once home we just hung out, played, did a little reading and I managed to get a little knitting in. It was lights out early in the evening, we all needed the rest.

Sunday morning we did what every other Canadian was doing, we watched the Olympic hockey game. And it was a good one, so worth getting up for. After that there was a round or two of memory with the little man, some more reading and a little play while Justin went back to bed to get a little more rest. After lunch I headed out to meet a few mama friends for tea. So nice to get out without the kiddos, enjoy a cup of tea and chat. I always find these afternoon tea chats so fulfilling and inspiring.

Sunday evening was a little planning for the week ahead and some reading and knitting, all with a cup of tea close by.

How was your weekend?

  1. I didn't watch but I heard that hockey game was pretty intense.
My best friend is married to a former Canadian hockey player and she was telling me all about so you can imagine how that story went.
Hope you and Reece are feeling much better.

    1. Since I am not a huge hockey fan, intense isn't the right word for me, but it was a good game, and it was fun to watch it. Thanks Tracey, all of us are feeling much better today.

  2. Well Kim I have to congratulate you on your Icehockey win, we watched with our canadian friends over here, but we wern't to thrilled, i.e. as my family is swedish, the Swedish team wasn't playing well at all, but we had a good time with our friends and were happy for their win!

  3. I'm glad you guys got some time to rest up. N one wants lingering colds when spring is at our doorstep! The week-end for us was an emotional one (like you already read in my blog). Most of it was spent outside, with the spring like weather and preparing for my son's receiving ceremony. It was just a wonderful week-end.

    1. Thanks Karen, we are. So happy to hear you received the little note, our mail has been so slow lately I have no idea how long it will be before people get the things I send.

  6. sounds like your weekend was a perfect one. How do you like the Waldorf program? I have a friend who is doing it with her son and loves it and was thinking about it trying it out for my daughter.

    1. It is not a true Waldorf program, it is a group of families, 10 of us, that have come together to create some Waldorf magic for our kiddos. We don't have a Waldorf school close by and quite a few of us homeschool so we came together to do this for our kids. We enjoy it very much. If I had the chance to give it a try at a Waldorf school I would do it!
