A Perfect Winter Day
There are winter days that make you want to curl up in front of the fire and never move and there are winter days that call you out to play. Yesterday was one of those call you out to play kinda days. The sun was shining, the temperatures were a balmy -8 degrees and Father Winter had left his mark on the forest, so off we went play in the woods. We walked, we ate snow trail side, we admired the views, we sled down hills, we enjoyed a picnic in the snow and we turned our faces toward the sun and felt her warmth.
It was truly wonderful, really the perfect day, and I was so happy to share it with these two pretty awesome kiddos.

Oh wow! That looks so beautiful! I've never experienced snow like that! x
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Elisa, and so much fun!
DeleteI'm so jealous! It was beautiful here too, but with a little miss that couldn't stand light in her pink-eye plagued jewels, we ended up spending the day inside. Planning on making up for it soon now that she's feeling better that is for sure! Beautiful part of the country you live in, I must say!
ReplyDeleteI do hope she is feeling better and that you can get out there and enjoy some of the magic :)
DeleteOh I do live a good Sumac cluster, so beautiful in every season. Send your heat wave our way ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too! They are so beautiful, and did you know you can eat them. I will send the heat your way, it is so lovely to be out there and not be freezing :)
DeleteNow I really am ready to move to Canada!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your perfect winter day. Yesterday we hit 80's and the humidity made me feel like I was melting. Makes me realize I am Not looking forward to summer.
Come on up Tracey, we would love to have you :) Although not all winter days are like this one, this was a very special one.
DeleteThat looked like a truly grand day! With all the sun and blue sky how could you possibly stay inside?!
ReplyDeleteYou got that right my friend, we had to get out there :)
DeleteI love how the kiddos are all bundled so tightly, like little snowmen and women! We're supposed to get 9 inches today, so I'm enjoying being snowed in. But I suspect that by this afternoon or tomorrow we'll be ready for an adventure.
ReplyDeleteYes, important to do if you want to enjoy some time out there. If not the complaints start as soon as we hit the trails :) Enjoy the snow, that storm is headed our way this evening, if you get a chance you can let it know we really don't need it.
DeleteThe sun! That is what has been lacking on most days around here. Yesterday was dreary (and snowing!) today the sun peaked out and I felt refreshed :)
ReplyDeleteUs too Karen. It has been so nice the last few days to see it and feel the warmth on our skin. So hoping she joins us more often.
DeleteI am fairly certain you could not paint a more blue sky. How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI know, it was just beautiful.
DeleteOh my word how wonderful! And you're so right about different types of winter day. Looks like you know how to enjoy the outdoor type well. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty wonderful! And yes, we definitely know how to enjoy the outdoor days around here :)

They are the best days. We have had a few like that this week and have been soaking them up. It was cold today and suppose to be cold over the weekend, but we know it is only a matter of time before we get more of these days...spring is coming :)
DeleteThat just looks like so much fun. I imagine after an extended period of time inside, you're itching to get out in the fresh air....even if it is freezing :) Great photos Kim. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is fun Chrisy. Yes, after hibernating getting outside is a must, for my sanity :)
DeleteHow picture postcard perfect and what great fun to be able to play in the snow! Thanks for linking up and making us jealous with your lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteIt was great fun! Thanks for hosting :)
DeleteIt's sooo beautiful where you live!! This is such a perfect day. I love it when the sun shines. Even when it's cold, the sun really helps take the bite away.
ReplyDeleteIt is! I am truly grateful for the beauty that surrounds us, we are very lucky. Me too, give me the sun, even on cold days, it is always welcome :)
