We have enjoyed time outside, hiking, playing in the snow and sitting around the fire. Inside we have been playing, reading, writing, knitting, crafting and doing a little bit of organizing. There has been time for reflection on the year that was and discussions about the year to come and where we are headed.
These are the in between days, the days after the craziness of Christmas and the days before the excitement of a New Year. We are enjoying the lull, soaking up the slowness and sinking into it for a few more days.
Quiet inside and out a most enjoyable place of rest to be. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!
Janet
It most certainly is. Thank you, you too!
DeleteLovely! I am impressed you have already put away all your Christmas decorations. I will leave mine up until after New Year's and then I know I will be itching to put them away ASAP. I am always so excited to unpack them and decorate the house, but as soon as the 26th hits I am just as eager to get my house 'back'. Except twinkle lights....I love them year-round :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie. And yes all put away, that happens on Boxing Day, every year. I, like you, love getting it all out, but once Christmas is done I want it gone. Our home always feels so fresh and spacious after we have taken them all done, perfect way to start the New Year.
DeleteWonderful. I would love to hear the silence of the view. I bet it sounds much the same as being in the open desert. Wishing you a wonderful new year!
ReplyDeleteIt was very quiet, only the sounds of a few birds and the ice falling from the trees :) Happy New Year to you too my friend.
DeleteWhat beautiful pictures! I love the peacefulness this time of year brings. Enjoy :-)
