Seven Things

Thankful. Smiling. Laughing. Appreciating. Adoring.

Loving. Holding. Remembering. Sharing.

Here are seven little things that I'm loving today.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:: Summer knitting by the fire, outside

:: How much my little man knows about his food and where it comes from

:: Fresh picked tomatoes on the windowsill

:: Touching the earth and feeling her strength

:: My first batch of homemade kombucha

:: Finding the perfect spot to picnic with my little man on one of our hikes

:: Fireside evenings on the deck

What simple little things are you loving today?

***I am pleased to be a contributor in the current issue of Green Child Magazine, hop on over and take a little look at page six :)

  2. Your tomatoes look great - we're just getting some in here too. I like the shot of your feet too. What great moments.

    1. Yay for tomatoes, I just wish they would ripen a little faster :)

    1. Awe, thanks Lisa, you are a great host :) First time with the kombucha, not sure if it is working, but I have a few Scoby's so I can try again.

  6. Ohhhh how these photos make me want you to adopt me into your family. :) I've been enjoying some sewing and reading. And now after looking at your photos I am more convinced than ever that we need to acquire a fire pit. :)

    1. I would love that! The next best thing is a visit, so if you are ever this way let me know. We have two fire areas - the back deck as the fire place and then we have a bon fire pit. We love having fires going, even in the summer.

  7. A fire? Oh it must be nice. I'd die down here if we lit one...but it sure is pretty. By the way...I LOVED the whole Clara post. Trying to comment from the phone was total frustration, but the whole thing was just magic!

    1. I call it our summer fire. We usually light it in the morning for breakfast and then again after dinner...both when the temps are a little cooler.

And thank you, we really enjoyed the whole process.

  8. Kombucha looks great - I've never tried it (making or drinking). Will you drink that much at once? How long does it last?

Seeing the tomatoes on the windowsill makes me miss my windowsills. This house has none! Love your little guy looking at those berries. How many did he stuff in his mouth?

    1. It will last a few weeks once opened. If sealed, it could last months. I will drink this batch in a week.

I love this time of year with the tomatoes on the windowsill, makes me smile.

And he stuffed a whole bunch in his mouth, he loves blackberries...we actually he loves all berries.

  9. Tomatoes look amazing! How is the kombucha? I tried brewing it two years ago and went through 4 batches and couldn't get it right so I gave in. I think the temperature was just too hot during the summer for it. Is Reece's hair turning blonde?

I can't wait to walk in a place where it's actually possible to walk outside barefoot. Sometimes I walk on the sandstones in our backyard with out shoes and that feels really lovely.

Congrats on the article too! :)

    1. I just tossed this batch of kombucha, it was not fermenting. Not sure why, but I still have a jar of Scoby's so I will try again this weekend.

Reece's hair is a little sun kissed :)

It is so nice to go barefoot, I need to do it at least once per day, it is so grounding.

      And thank you :)
