Well, the vest is done!! And I love it. It is perfect for me and I am really happy
with how well it turned out.
Now that it is finished I have decided to get started on a
little, I hate to say it...Christmas knitting. I casted on another hat, using the same pattern I used for Reece’s hat
last month. It is a pattern from Easy Knits for Kids. The first time around I had a few issues with the pattern, this
time, so far, it is clear sailing. Let’s hope it stays that way. The picture makes the colour of the yarn look similar to the yarn I used for Reece's hat, but it really isn't. It is a lovely shade of purple, which will look amazing with my niece Madison's cool blue eyes.
One the reading front, I am just finishing up Raising Our Children, Raising Ourselves, which I am really enjoying, and I dove into my doula training manual this week. Reading the first few chapters and doing the first few assignments has reaffirmed my decision to journey on this path. It is going to be one exciting journey.
What are you reading and knitting this week.

The vest looks great Kim! My, you are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI started Christmas knitting in January and will still not finish in time. I really must stop adding to my list! :)
Awe, thanks so much Tracey.
DeleteAnd yes that is the problem with starting so early, every once in a while someone else sneaks on to my list :)
Fantastic vest! I cannot believe you've started holiday knitting.....makes me think I should at least write some goals down for this up coming season!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, I know, but I like to be prepared and I really love the holiday season, so if I have most things done then I can sit back and enjoy :)
Deletewhat a nice vest
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vest!!! I love it. Christmas knitting....I have tons of ideas but haven't started really thinking about starting yet. I should at least write them down. Last year I began my Christmas knitting in July and was knitting right past Christmas! Maybe I should start sooner this year :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen. At least the ideas are going, that is a start. I do think you should write them down, if I didn't I would forget.
DeleteThat vest looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd Christmas knitting...I haven't even begun to think about! I still have yet to knit something for my newest blessing due in July! :)Thinking Christmas knitting may take a backseat this year! :)
Thank you. I would say your July knitting sounds like the perfect reason to take a back seat to Christmas knitting. Congratulations!
DeleteThe vest looks perfect on you! Very, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteYou seem to be on a great knitting roll at the moment :-) And your reads sound really interesting too... looking forward to hearing more about them!
ReplyDeleteYes, and I am hoping it sticks around over the summer...
DeleteI knew the vest was going to be gorgeous with your coloring! I have to say that I'm a little annoyed with you being so organized and starting now....it makes the rest of us look bad!
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa. And sorry :( Not trying to make you look bad, I just like being organized :)
DeleteLove the simplicity of the vest- fits you perfectly!
ReplyDelete-Reece...you are just too cute!
Thanks and thanks :)
DeleteThe vest turned out so lovely! I love the variegated color. I hear you about the Christmas knitting. I should get started too, if I actually want to get anything done in time. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you. That is the main reason, getting it all done, and to have time to enjoy the holiday season.
DeleteThe vest looks great on you! Well done! I think it's great that you've started your Christmas knitting. I'd like to make a sweater for all four of my kiddos for Christmas and it would definitely take me that long :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristen. I am hoping to knit Reece a sweater for Christmas, it would be my first one, so I really need to get some other little things done so I can focus on that one.
DeleteSuch a pretty vest!! I love the width on the shoulders and the colors are just beautiful! Happy Christmas Knitting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly. That is actually what attracted me to the pattern :)
DeleteThe vest looks great on you. You are so organized with your Christmas knitting. I always think about it now, does that count for something? lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks! And yes of course that counts :)
DeleteKim your vest looks really good on you.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you're enjoying your course.
Take care. xxoo
Thanks Julie :)

ReplyDeleteSo excited that you are going to doula training! It's an amzing experience and one that I am so happy I had about a year ago and wished I had done much sooner (like before I had my girls)! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, so far I am really enjoying it. I thought I saw a doula button on your site, not there now though, is it? Are you still doing it?
DeleteI'm impressed with your Christmas knitting...don't we all say we are going to start earlier next year?
ReplyDeleteYes, I know I do :)
DeleteWhat pretty vest! You''ll have that forever...
ReplyDeleteThanks! And yes I will :)
