A New Family Tradition

We started a little family tradition last Easter, an after dinner walk along the path and creek at my parents place.  Last year we had a great time, and this year was the same.

My brother and his wife couldn’t make it to dinner this year, he was working and she was off to the hockey rink for a tournament with one of my nieces.  I was really happy they decided to drop off my nephew and other niece at my parents place for the day, so Reece could spend the afternoon with this cousins.  They played, we chatted and we all enjoyed a lovely Easter dinner. Then it was outside for all of us to enjoy a lovely afternoon walk.

My parents still live in the same house I grew up in, and I remember as a kid spending hours at a time by the creek – tossing stones, collecting minnows, riding our bikes and just having fun in the woods. I am so happy to be able to share this wonderful space with Reece.

We have, over the last few years, enjoyed time walking, tossing stones and riding his bike here and I am sure that will continue for many years to come.  This new family tradition is wonderful and while I know it will come to an end when my parents move...one of these days, for now I will enjoy it, take tons of pictures and keep it going for as long as I can.

Let's go!

  1. Great pictures Kim, especially the last one.
I love bees too, just wish I wasn't allergic so I could keep hives. And cardinals....they nest on our property and I must have dozens here, they are my favorite bird.
    Have a lovely Monday.

  3. Great tradition! In Italian culture you would traditionally go for picnic the day after Easter with the left over from the huge lunch you made, but since we can't because it's always a Monday and Daniele works we decided to picnic for easter this year. I packed up a basket and we headed to the park. It was really lovely! I love the last family picture!

Thank you for creating a space for all of us to share our Happy Family Times :)

Doula training has been slow to start, had a few things to get done before I could dive in. Everything is done now, and next week it will be full force ahead, can't wait!
