It Just Keeps Giving

I have headed out to our little raspberry patch to cut back the canes a few times in the last couple of weeks, but as of yet they haven't been cut back. It seems the canes are happy to keep right on producing and ripening berries. So instead, I pick. And let me tell you there is nothing quite like fresh berries from the backyard at the end of October. So good!

    1. I agree, we are so happy to be enjoying them as long as we have. I don't think so, with this warm spell and sunshine we had it was perfect for ripening, but now with the cold, grey days, and maybe snow, they will not ripen.

  4. A wonderful surprise eh? Two days ago the same thing happened to me. Two canes were dropping with ripe berries at the end of them...only about six berries, but, still a nice surprise.

    1. They are delicious. I was introduced to them years ago at a farmers market, and a few years ago found a bush at our local nursery, I had to have it. So happy I found it.

    1. They are everbearing fall gold raspberries :) We did a full cut back last fall for a bigger fall harvest this year, but I had no idea it would go on this long. We are definitely enjoying them.
