Our Weekend

It was a good weekend around these parts. More snow fell and the temperatures dropped once again, but the sun was shining, and that my friends, is a good thing. On Saturday morning Reece and I took a little drive with some friends to attend a kindergarten morning at the Halton Waldorf School. I was happy to hang out in a Waldorf classroom for a few hours and Reece was happy to bake some bread and play. We hit a lovely vegan restaurant for a late lunch before heading home for a quiet, cozy evening.

We hit the woods on Sunday morning with some friends. It was cold, but we managed a bit of time in nature, and witnessed some woodpeckers doing their thing on the trees. Then it was potluck time with the same friends. There was good conversation, really good food, and lots of fun play for the kiddos. I am so grateful to have connected with these like minded families, people who get us and the journey we are on. It makes this path we are following that much easier to move forward on.

Back at home there were some paper airplane races, a little preparation for the week ahead and then a quiet evening that included a little letter writing and knitting.

How was your weekend?

  1. Our weekend? We had a massive weekend here. :)
My husband and l took off for a weekend away, and went to a music festival/concert called A Day on the Green. A very civilised affair at a local winery. Think deck chairs, picnic rugs, cheese, crackers and wine.....and lots of good music. I'm really craving some down time though, and your weekend sounds ideal...... Hope you are well Kim. xx

If you get a chance send some spring this way.

  3. I assume he is under all of that bundling :) We still have snow everywhere but it is slowly melting and the storm that was to hit is a miss. (so far). I wouldn't mind a flower or two!!

    1. You assume correctly Karen :) I would love to see a flower or two as well, but I think it will be a few more weeks, we have so much snow to melt before there is even a chance to see any. Soon though, at least that is what I keep telling myself.

  5. My sister just called from Va. to tell me it is snowing nonstop there. I am 75 degrees today.
Hitting the woods always makes for a great day and I have plans to do it again today.
    Have a great Monday.

  8. Sounds a lovely weekend again. We had quite a bit of rain but managed to get a walk in the woods too, which was lovely. We didn't manage to see woodpeckers, but we did hear them - their lovely, loud, drilling sound. I love that noise, it always makes me stop and smile, and it always makes me think Spring is on the way here. Hope it means that for you too.
