Searching for Shells

Many of you are well aware of my little mans rock addiction, well, it is official he also has a shell addiction. We have spent a lot of time on the beach the last two days searching for shells. With each shell collected there is discussion about how cool, or pretty, or beautiful it is and then the action of tucking them into pockets to be carried back to the condo. When pockets are full, the remainder are carried back in hands. Last night, thinking ahead, I brought along a bag on our after dinner walk. It came in handy as little hands quickly began searching for the perfect shell.

So yes, there is a growing display of shells in our room and we are only two days into our stay in Myrtle Beach. I think we will have quite the collection by the time we head home. Shells anyone?

***I am guest posting over at Mud Puddles to Meteors today, stop by and say hello.

  1. I have very found memories of collecting shells at the beach as a child. It is a simply wonderful thing for kids to do. Sounds like you've all enjoyed your stay at the beach. xx

  2. I would love shells! LOL! Last year, we went to this near by beach along the St-Lawrence river and we came across a patch of colored glass shards, polished by the rolling tides. We came home with a whole bag of them. My daughter went nuts!

I just love how easy they are to please at this age... May we all enjoy it while it lasts! Have a great day!

  4. I do love shell hunting. There is a spot on the beach in Maui where my aunt lived where for some reason a lot of puka shells would wash up on the beach. We collected them by the handful to make necklaces. It was so fun! I would love to spend a significant time near the beach to collect shells one day.

  10. How fun! I've only had the honor of going to the beach a handful of times but never find so many treasures. I hear stories of beautiful shells and especially sea glass and hope to one day have more mornings on a beach to go treasure hunting. It looks like your little man is right in his element. :)

    1. It was a ton of fun! We search for shells every day while we were there and came home with a very large bag full of them. Every shell is special according to Reece and must come home :)

I hope one day you find your way to the beach for some shell hunting. xo
