Heading Home

We are on the road again, this time heading home. Our time in Myrtle Beach has been filled to the brim with goodness...walks on the beach, hiking in the woods, visits to interesting places, afternoons by the pool, fun with my parents (thanks mom and dad) and time to move slowly and easily through our days. It was a lovely break from the day to day rhythm of home, but both Reece and I are ready to go home.

It's a funny thing, going away on a little trip, there is always so much excitement to go, to do something different, but it always feels so darn good to go home. Going back to "reality" is a good thing for us, there is so much to look forward to now that spring is here. And although I hear I am returning to the same snow I left, I know it won't be much longer before the grass is peeking through the snow, the snow drops are pushing up towards the sun, and the robins are waking us with a happy tune.

So much to look forward to in the weeks and months to come. I can't wait!

    1. Well that was 10 days ago, but time does fly. We had a pretty uneventful drive home. It was long, we did it in one shot, but so worth it to pull in the driveway and be home.

  7. So I just went through your posts of Myrtle Beach, what a wonderful vacation! It made me miss the beach, the sunsets, the shells, the live oak trees...thanks for sharing all these photos. OH and the zoo one too with all the birds of prey and foxes, that was my favorite :). Safe travels Kim!!

  10. What you said here is why I think that kids need more of a break in school, etc. The idea that a kiddo can take a break, come back refreshed and then want to return to their routine or their studies, etc. is so important. We all need to be refreshed, and then we return to our lives with a new perspective and a sense of place. Welcome back!
