{This Moment}

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see. Inspired by Soulemama.

  3. Oooooh, so exciting!!! What a rare moment to have AND catch on camera! The tiny black-capped chickadees are making their way back to our birdfeeder too. It seems early, but maybe they can sense a cold winter coming? Or maybe this is just completely normal and I'm just wishfully hoping for lots of snow ; ) Have a great weekend!

    1. This is actually a conservation area near our home and for some reason the birds are quite happy to land on our hands to be feed. Chickadees, nuthatches, wood peckers and blue jays have all shared in the fun.

      We go often, and it never gets old.

  9. This is so cool!!!! Has this chickadee (?) done this before? How long did you have to wait??? Wonderful!! My kids have had this happen with butterflies, but never a wild bird. They talk about having it happen...

    1. Thanks, and yes, this is a special spot where the birds and chipmunks will feed from your hands. Last year we even enjoyed some time with a black squirrel.

  15. Awesome! Was the bird really light? I held a humming bird once when I was 8. I still remember everything about it.

    1. It is a very special place near our home. The birds, chipmunks and squirrels are quite friendly and enjoy eating from our hands. It is a great spot and it doesn't matter how many birds land in your hand, it is always so much fun.
