Seven Things

Thankful. Smiling. Laughing. Appreciating. Adoring.

Loving. Holding. Remembering. Sharing.

Here are seven little things that I'm loving today.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:: His hand in mine

:: Gorgeous views on a new to us trail

:: His focus when he crafts

:: Meals grown in our backyard (everything but the pasta)

:: Our fall equinox fire, complete with a little gratitude ceremony for the summer that was
and a moment to reflect on what this season will bring

:: His growing confidence, not only one skates, but in everything he does

:: The seasons first waxed leaves, there will be more of these for sure

What simple things are you loving today?

  1. I am enjoying the nip in the air and the way the sun shines differently through my windows. The slanted kind of sunshine !

    1. Thanks! Super easy, melt some beeswax, dip the leaves, let the wax drip off and that's it. These leaves were pretty flat so I didn't press them first, but if they were curled up, I would have pressed them in a book for a night then waxed them.

Some people hang them to dry, but really they dry super fast, I just hold them over the bowl of wax for 15 to 20 seconds and then lay them on the counter.

      Enjoy!

    1. Thanks KC! I explained it in a comment above, really easy. These ones are for a walking stick Reece is creating so he has one when we go hiking. I plan to do a whole bunch once more leaves fall and hope to make a garland.

  5. I've been thinking about doing waxed leaves this year too! Wish we could have a bonfire in our backyard. Peak of fire season around here though.

  6. Lovely seven things. I'm with everyone else...time for a "how to" on the waxed leaves. It's finally starting to cool off down here, but it's still in the 70's in the afternoon.
