Seasonal Shift

Ever so slowly the shift as occurred. First it was the cooler nights, then the cooler mornings. The sun is now setting earlier and it is darker in the morning. Sweaters are needed for our morning walks. A hot tea is welcome any time of day. Yes, the feeling of fall is in the air, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

I could say that fall is my favourite season, but really I like them all. There are things I enjoyed about each season, and I embrace them with as much energy as I can each time they roll around.

I think what I really enjoy is the seasonal shift, the movement from one season to the next. It forces me to shift, to change the routine a bit...I like that.

  1. Fall and winter are my all time favorite! I do not like to be hot. I also have noticed the shift. Our swing in the back is always in full sun until late afternoon in the summer. That has changed! I do love the crisper air and I love the crunch of leaves :)

  2. You just opened my eyes. I always say fall is my favorite, and it probably is, but maybe it really is more about the shifts for me as well. I always enjoy the movement from one season to the next, along with the anticipation of the season-specific things to come. Enjoy this new season to its fullest! :)

  3. Look at all those leaves. The shift is taking a little longer down here in the south. We haven't quite gotten to sweaters yet, but I can feel it in the air.

  5. Yes, we're starting to shift here too. Cooler evenings and a few leaves here and there. I'm starting to feel ready for this next phase: the move and the nesting that will come with it. But before then, more healing then one last push to get us packed and on our way!

  7. While my shift here is different I have noticed it and am so excitied to have fall arrive. The biggest change here is the humidity level drops which is a good thing for my hair! ;)

    1. It is a good thing whenever the humidity drops. I can handle the heat, but it is the humidity that takes me down. Enjoy the arrival of fall Tracey.

    1. You are a little chillier than us right now, we were down to 5 degrees last night, the chicks didn't want to leave the coop this morning. We dug out more winter wear today.

  10. oh how i love the fall too! i've notice my tea kettle on more frequently and an overwhelming desire to pick up my knitting projects again. the crunching leaves and the crisp light. i think those are my biggest cues, other than the cooler temps. in case i don't catch up until after, have a beautiful first day of fall in a few!

  11. Kim,

YES YES... the change of seasons!! It is my favorite season as well. Then autumn, spring, summer and winter - in that order. the shift from one season to the next forces us to wake, to look at things with a new perspective, to whip us back into the reality that we also shift and change with the seasons... we are interconnected.

    hugs, Jules
