Story Time

I have waited patiently for the day when Reece would come running, with a book in hand, to ask me to read him a story, and it has finally come. For about two months now, Reece has been the one to initiate our story time each day, and I love it.
He usually grabs a book from the shelf in his room, comes running out calling “time for a story”. Often I make us a cup of tea, grab us a little snack and we cuddle up on the sofa and read.
Right now, he has a favourite, which we are pretty much reading every day, at least once, if not two, three, four...you get the picture, times a day.

Peter in Blueberry Land by Elsa Beskow is a magical story of a little boy upset when we can't find any berries to pick for his mother's birthday. Along comes the Blueberry King and a great adventure begins. The imaginative story and the colourful pictures make this book a pleasure to read as many times as my little man wishes.

What story book is getting read a lot in your home these days?

  1. How funny that there are blueberries at your house because we are knee deep in blueberries over here. My daughter is in love with Blueberries for Sal. We've read it over a hundred times I think. This is a cute book I'll look for it at the library.

  3. I have heard great things about Blueberries for Sal, I think I will have to pick it up for us, I am sure it would be a great addition to our story time.

I love how they enjoy reading the same story over and over again, so cute :)

  6. I'll have to check out Beskow books. They look charming! My almost 3 yr. old loves the "Give a..." series by Laura Numeroff. They're great. Also, Visitor for Bear by Bonny Becker. My faves to read him are The Awesome Book of Thanks, Dallas Clayton and You Are My I Love You, Maryann Cusimano. The best is when I catch him turning the pages of his books during his play.
