On My Needles

I have been knitting away on a little project for Reece’s room the last few weeks. I am creating a little banner, based on the bunting banner, with the word DREAM on it. I have completed the knitting of seven rectangles and have just started working on the letters with some great fabric I picked up last week.

Since finishing the rectangles for Reece's banner, my needles were empty, until Justin whispered in my ear that he would like a new scarf. He did get one for Christmas, but I picked up some wool on sale a few weeks ago, not sure what I would do with it, and he really likes it. I think I secretly knew the wool would be used to make something for him, it is a deep green with flecks of orange and yellow, a perfect match for his green eyes. He mentioned how nice it would look knitted into a scarf for him. So, a scarf he will get.

And once this is done, I am getting to work on something for Reece from this book. Can’t wait!

What is on your knitting needles these days?

  1. Thanks for visiting my space and taking the time to leave a comment! I've been busy lately and not checking blogs as often as I like. But here I am. I've been knitting away off and on on the same pair of socks since last January. I'm now finishing the ribbing on the second one and will hopefully bind them off tonight...FINALLY! Already have the next pair planned!

    1. I can't wait to knit socks, so looking forward to trying my first pair. There is a project in the Easy Kids Knits for socks, I may try them for my little man.

Hopefully you are wearing your socks right now!!! Have fun with the next pair.

  2. I'm working on a sweater for myself. I only have one and it's so old the sleeves have shrunk to be 3/4 sleeves.

I'm also learning to crochet. I haven't made anything yet though.

That yarn is really lovely! It looks like it would be really soft.

    1. Nice KC, I have yet to knit a sweater, and I think when I do, the first one will be for Reece.

I have been thinking about crocheting myself too, think I will stick with the knitting needles for now and add that in later. Let me know how it goes.

And yes, the yarn is really soft, perfect for a warm winter scarf.

  3. What a great idea. I've got a dishcloth on one set of needles (knitting in cotton). On my other set I've got a scarf for myself. xxoo

    1. I just finished a scarf for myself, first think I have taken the time to knit for me. It feels wonderful every time I put it on.

      Enjoy.

  4. How is the book so far? I am always looking for knits for my little ones and I am still a beginner. I made my first pair of woolly booties for baby and they actually look like the picture, success!

    1. So far so good. I have not yet used any of the patterns, but they look like they are well explained. Lots of great patterns for boys and girls.

Nice work on the booties, gotta love it when they look like the picture :)
