A lovely, spring like day.
A walk along the path,
through the forest, and by the meadow,
ending at the lake.
Kiddos, water and rocks.
Mamas sitting on a log,
enjoying the sun, and chatting.
A slow meander back to the car,
cardinals singing, red winged blackbirds calling.
Soul filled, heart happy,
thanks to a wonderful morning by the lake.
How wonderful that you have a lake like this so close to where you live! Beautiful spot to take the kiddos to and let them have fun.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful, and I feel very lucky to have grown up on the shores of Lake Ontario. And I love that my little man enjoys his time at the lake as much as I do :)
DeleteA beautiful way to spend a morning Kim. That sure is a big lake, not at all like the lakes we have here, and although Santee is large it's not as pretty as the lake you visit.
ReplyDeleteThat is Lake Ontario Tracey, one of the great lakes. It is huge, and there are so many wonderful spots along its shores to visit, and hang out for a bit.
DeleteThat looks like a soul filled day! Especially with that blue sky. I know just the feeling you are writing about. :) Good morning and wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely was!
DeleteThat sounds like the perfect morning, beautiful images too. And look, no snow!
ReplyDeleteYes, the snow has melted by the lake, and as of yesterday most of it has disappeared from our place, a little further north. It is amazing to see the grass again...finally!
DeleteOh my, look at that sun! I practically got a dose of vitamin D through your pictures. :-) Sorry you missed the ice, but very little can beat that light!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is just wonderful!
It was a pretty awesome day! The sun was amazing, and the sky, I could have looked at it all day. I am okay with missing the break up of the ice, this was so much better :)
DeleteAll your snow has gone! Hurray. The light on the water is dazzling, what a lovely place to spend a morning :)
ReplyDeletePretty much, still a bit here and there, but we can see grass, and that is amazing!!!!
DeleteWow, that's a big lake!! Blue sky, mud boots, bare trees--must be April. Enjoy the sun!
ReplyDeleteYes, April, and we will enjoy it :)
DeleteThat would be Lake Ontario, one of the great lakes.
Wow that’s a huge lake. Looks like you are getting nicer weather than us.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a string of really lovely days, and we are enjoying them, a lot!

ReplyDeleteIt was just wonderful Em, and we all enjoyed it so much. Wishing you a lovely weekend too my friend. xo
Deletethat sounds like a perfect morning!
ReplyDeleteIt was. Although it might have been a little more perfect if we could have shared it with you :)
DeleteOh Kim, what a glorious day! And the sun shining on the water is truly incredible! How I wish we had been there with you too!
ReplyDeleteOur day today was glorious as well (though no sunshine on the water for us). It was lovely to be out without coats or hats and even more exciting to find some crocus! xo

One day Shel, you and your girls will visit, and we will take you to this spot.
DeleteWe found crocuses yesterday too, a wonderful sign of spring.
Happy weekend!
It's a cliche I know but "oh what a beautiful morning!" What a beautiful spot and such a treat to have the time to enjoy it :-)

ReplyDeleteIt was a really lovely day, and as always, so nice to see our children together, enjoying time in nature :)
DeleteI love taking the kids down to the water - no matter what time of year. It just has a wonderful positive effect on them.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great day - can picture the chatting on a log...there always seems to be that perfect driftwood log to sit on eh?
Same here, and it always has a positive effect on me too :)
DeleteYou are so right, always the perfect log to sit on. Thank you Mother Nature.
