This weekend was slow and simple. A lovely walk in the woods with my little man, feeding the chipmunks and identifying wild plants. There was a lot of time in the garden, planting more seeds, and checking in on everything that is growing. We played, we laughed, we ate our meals outside on the back deck, and I even managed a little nap on Sunday afternoon in the hammock, under the trees. It was pure bliss.
Slow and simple, just the way weekends should be.

Ours was the exact opposite : Busy busy busy! But oh so satisfying...
ReplyDeleteSo happy you enjoyed the weather and got to spend some quiet time with your loved ones.
Have a wonderful week dear. xo
Thanks Yanic, wishing the same for you :)
DeleteDoes he really have a chipmunk eating out of his hand? That is fantastic! My children are always trying to get the little animals to come to them, but they're just too...much, I think. Maybe with a little more growth they'll get the quiet and patience for it...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had such a nice weekend; have a lovely week. xo
You bet he does! It is pretty awesome. At this spot the chipmunks and birds are so used to eating from hands they actually chase you down looking for food.
DeleteThat really does sound like pure bliss! Hope your week carries on that way too.
ReplyDeleteYes, me too, that would be wonderful :)
DeleteSounds blissful, indeed! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was :)
DeleteA nap on hammocks sounds quite decadent :) my dad used to walk around the woods identifying plants trees and I absorbed much info not realizing I was paying attention!!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely. I didn't intend to nap, I just went in it to relax for a minute and the next thing I knew I was waking up. Felt good.
DeleteOH! I would kill for a hammock nap under the trees! Sounds lovely, friend!
ReplyDeleteIt was, and I highly recommend it :)
DeleteOurs as you know was as slow as could be. With the arrival of the triple digit heat we kind of slow way down like you do in the depths of winter. :)
ReplyDeleteSlow and easy, just like they should be in that heat. Stay cool!
DeleteSlow and simply ARE just the way weekends should be, so glad you had that.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey. xo
Deletelooks and sounds absolutely wonderful!! It's so green there too!
ReplyDeleteIt was Summer. And yes, finally the trees have popped and our world is filled with green, we are loving it!
DeleteOh my. I think hand feeding chipmunks just went on my 'must do' bucket list! Love how light and bright those woods look.
ReplyDeleteHaha, it should be on everyone's bucket list. It is pretty cool. Plan a trip, we will take you there :)
DeleteLOL, careful. My father encouraged me to get the chipmunks to feed out of my hand as a young girl, and then they got into the garage and at through $500 worth of cables in the car, and then went on to undermined the driveway causing it to cave in! Cute, but destructive little beasties.
ReplyDeleteThat is too bed. Luckily these ones are in the woods, a good 30 minute drive from our house. We visit them at the conservation area :)
