    1. That is garlic mustard. We harvested it from the woods, for the first time this season, yesterday. It is considered an invasive species here. It makes awesome pesto, which is exactly what we did with it, and will be enjoying it for dinner this evening :)

    1. Not yet, this little darling is one we visited at the zoo/farm. Reece really wants to add a couple of ducks to our little homestead, we are still discussing it :)

  5. A duckling how sweet! And I have to ask what the plants are at the top. Looks like lemon balm or nettles. But I can't imagine you hold nettles with bare hands!

    1. That would be garlic mustard KC. It is an invasive species here, so we can harvest as much as we like. We harvested quite a bit yesterday and made up a very large batch of pesto with it. We will be enjoying it for dinner this evening.

  6. Did you get baby ducks?!?!
I wanted to play along today-- I even took my pictures-- and then, in my morning haze, I left my computer at home before I went to work. It has caused quite a few problems, the blog post just one. Oh well... hopefully next week!

    1. Not yet, but maybe soon. Little man is pretty attached to the little ducklings at the zoo/farm, so I think we might be bringing two home in the next few weeks.

  8. How sweet! I hope you do get ducklings. We raised ducks every summer when I was a child. Wonderful experience, beautiful memories. Be well.

    1. I hope so too, I think they would be a nice addition and we have heard many great things about raising them. We just need to work on convincing Justin a little bit more :)

  9. What beautiful little peeks! Sorry I didn't lay this week. Was so busy all week-end, didn't take my camera out much! In your first picture, is that nettle? I'm so sure we have tons of it here and I just don't know how to find it! I love nettle tea.

Wishing you a wonderful week my dear! xo

    1. Thank you! No worries, play along when you can. That would be garlic mustard. It is invasive here and I am sure the same would be true in your area. Being invasive you can harvest as much as you like :) We brought home a ton and made pesto. We have a little stash starting to fill up the freezer. We will go and get more later this week.

Stinging nettles will "sting", so a little touch will let you know if you have nettles or not. We need to get together and do a little foraging together. When are you coming? xo

  10. My post from yesterday is along these lines, though I didn't have one picture for each time period (that's my goal, there were just too many good ones from yesterday)! What a sweet little duckling! xo
