Autumn Falling

The autumn season has fallen,
and with it, some believe, all of its beauty.
But what it leaves behind is still beautiful,
just in a different way.

The sun shining through the tall trees,
casting shadows along the trail.
The blue sky hovering over the canopy,
usually covered by leaves, now open for all to see.
Bird nests visible for the first time,
paper wasp nests hanging on empty branches,
and creatures staring back at you from their perch a top a tree.

Autumn falling is beautiful,
but look beyond and you will see
the beauty that remains
once it has dropped its last leaf.

  1. Good morning Kim. Such beautiful words!

I always consider November to be my least favourite month of the year. A dark, dreary and wet hurdle to overcome between the beauty of October and the excitement and magic of December. However, your words are so very true. There is beauty in every month, it just takes a different shape and form. :)

  2. One of my favorite things about this time of year... sunrise. How on earth does it become so vibrant when the temps fall?

  3. Beautiful Kim! I feel like the time after the leaves fall is a time when I can finally see again. At least through all those trees! :) Have a wonderful day my friend. Crunch some of those leaves for me!
